Ankh extended his hand to help Ahk up. Then he glanced at Mysraela. "Mother..." Hra chimed in, seeing her father look at her, "When did you learn to fly? And was I pathetic when I tried to learn to? Father said I was..."

"Well," offered Mysraela, "I sort of taught myself to fly. I don't remember how old I was, but I may have been a bit older than Ahk, and a little younger than yourself. What about you, Ankh?" Ahk accepted her father's hand and got to her feet once again.

"Hm? Oh... I don't know. Probably older than Hra. The bad thing is that my little brother learned before me," Ankh remarked blankly, accepting the malicious glares from Hra. She primmed her own wings before grooming her sister's, painfully plucking feathers for her own amusement.

"Saersool? He learned faster than you? Why, he's duller than the top side of a nail!" remarked Mysraela, thinking back to older times than these. Ahk snickered at her mother's words and winced at Hra's painful tugs on her feathers. "Stop it," she hissed almost silently at her sister so that Ankh and Mysraela couldn't hear.

"Unfortunately, yes. And I whole-heartedly agree. But he doesn't matter. Not now, not then, not ever," Ankh growled bitterly, watching Hra and Ahk carefully. "What if I don't want to?" replied the elder sibling, pulling at an abnormally large feather upon her sister's petite wings.

"Why must you always pick on me?!" exploded Ahk, whirling around with such a force the feather Hra had been playing with was still in her fingers. "Why can't you just leave me alone, or just find some one else to mess with for once?" Mysraela flinched at the ferocity in her daugher's tone, too taken aback to calm her down. Since when did Akh defend herself?

Hra glimpsed at her father and then Mysraela. "What do you mean? I wasn't picking on you," she said calmly, wrapping one arm about her sister's neck in a friendly hug. She was really trying to cover up from getting in trouble. Ankh eyed her suspiciously. "Hra!" he exclaimed, "If you don't leave Ahk alone, then you're not going to see the light of day again." And he meant that in the most literal way possible. He didn't know or care if Mysraela was concerned but Ankh was as homicidal now as he was then, and everyone was a victim in his eyes if blinded by rage.

Childishly and immaturely, Ahk stuck her tongue out at Hra, daring her to do something in front of Gader'el and Mysraela. She knew this was only asking for more trouble later, but at the moment she didn't care and wanted to make Hra mad.

"Cut it out, both of you," thundered Ankh, a knife at his side. Hra backed off, lowering her gaze. "Mysraela..." he snapped, turning to her, "aren't you going to take any responsibility here? Obviously, they enjoy your company more than mine, but that's the way it should be. I should be respected, not liked."

"And why shouldn't they like you, Ankh? You're their father," countered Mysraela, then added to the girls, "Yes, do stop it, both of you." A murderous look gleamed in her eye as well. Ahk lowered her sable gaze. "I'm sorry, mother," she uttered before Hra had a chance to.

"That doesn't mean they have to like me," ventured Ankh, the blade disappearing into thin air. "Well, I'm not sorry! If you two would have never had her, we wouldn't have this problem. The only thing I'm sorry for is that I'm still standing here!"

"Well, I'm sorry you're here too, so leave and make us all feel better," spat Ahk hotly, glaring at her sister and challenging her to a stare-off. Mysraela shoved the younger girl to the ground, breaking her eye contact. "Stop. This. Right. Now. Both of you," she growled, an eerie calm in her voice.

"Mother!" Hra exclaimed, clinging to her. Ankh couldn't help but spectate. He felt was responsible for some of it, for stirring up so much trouble. "Mysraela... are you going to take them back home? Or shall I?" he snapped in the most murderous way possible.

"Let us both," she sneered. "They'll definitely need more than just one escort." In one fluid, almost feline movement, the mother had snatched Hra's wrists in each hand. "Ready when you are," she said to Ankh.

Ankh mirrored his partner's movements, taking Ahk captive a little gentler, though. "I'm ready," he said calmly. Hra struggled against her mother's grip, defying to be taken back. "Why do you want me to come? You'd both rather have Ahk than me."
