Ahk fluttered her short wings in anticipation of the day. She might finally learn how to fly! "Hra," she said, looking up to her older sibling, "Are you really going to show me how to fly, or is this just some stupid prank?" A light breeze ruffled her short hair, sweeping some from one eye to the other.

Chocolate lanterns searched their surroundings and then focused on the small demon before them. With the wind came a fresh scent, and with the scent came the voice of Hra, "I'll teach you how to fly, but don't disappoint me. Remember, if you disgrace me, you disgrace Mother and Father as well." She plucked an out-of-place feather, one the color of darkness and the feel of satin, and let it drift into the breeze. "Right... now... we're going to begin," the dark angel vixen said bluntly.

Imitating her sister, Ahk examined her wings for any misplaced plumage. Finding none, she turned her attenion back on Hra. Her sable gaze rested in her sibling's chocolate one, the one that radiated the demand for respect and obedience.

"Spread your wings open and make your feet light. Straighten your spine and clear your head," Hra uttered, doing the exact things her words suggested. She stood taller and her mind became much more uncluttered.

Straightening from her slackened pose, Ahk was on the tips of her toes with her backbone as rigid as it could be. Her wingtips scraped the air on either side and a deep breath blew away all the unnecessary thoughts cluttering her mind.

"Now... jump up and start flying," Hra ordered, her wings snapping to work as soon as her figure left the ground. She hovered harmlessly in the air, staring at Ahk, expecting her to do the same.

Bending her knees, Ahk launched herself a few feet off the ground, thrusting her wings out farther and flapping them furiously. All of this ended in failure, however, as she landed in a heap of feathers on the ground. "Dammit," she whispered to herself, bracing for the worst from Hra.

"What was that?" yelled Hra frustratingly. When she landed gingerly, she kicked up some dirt. "That was horrible! You can't fly! You're not Mother's child, surely! And you're definitely not my sister! Get your miserable self up and leave! I try to teach you and what do I get?" she snarled, but only to be greeted by her father's firm hand upon her shoulder and a shove to the ground. "Don't yell at your sister. I saw it all. This is her first time. Do you really think you were able to fly the first time you tried?" he remarked just as sourly as Hra. OOC: Is it okay if I bring him in now? I found it a good time to...

((Perfect timing! ^^))
Tears stung the corners of Ahk's optics at the harsh words of her sister, despite her father's reprimanding. She picked herself up slowly, and soft wingbeats caught her attention. She whirled around and there was Mysraela. Orbs downcast, the youngest trudged over to her and wrapped her arms around her mother, burying her face into the other's shoulder. Mysraela shot a venomous glare at her eldest child, but said nothing to her.

"I wasn't as pathetic!" Hra snapped, lashing out at her father when she gained her aloofness. Ankh knocked her to the ground again, not caring whether he hurt her or not. "You're pathetic, now, Hra, acting like a brat. Say you're sorry," he demanded viciously. The elder sibling loomed over Ahk, wanting desperately to strangle her but her father egged her on. "Ahk... I'm sorry for screaming at you. You'll get the hang of it one day," she forced from her lips.

Though she knew that every word was faux and would be disreguarded later, Ahk knew that she had to play her part in this as well because of Mysraela and Ankh. "It's okay, Hra," she murmured, looking into the hate-filled optics that were being driven into her like needles. "Thanks for trying, though..." she added on a whim. Mysraela nodded her approval of both sides.

"Now, get up and try again," Ankh suggested with a tender smile. "You're so partial..." Hra mumbled under her breath toward her father. He had never been welcoming toward her. Never.

"Do I have to, Father? I don't think I'm ready yet..." mumbled Ahk as she got into position again with her back straight and her heels off the ground.

"Yes, you need to try again," Ankh replied, his smile fading into a frown. Hra pulled one of her father's feathers, twisting it in her fingers. So this was why her wings felt so soft and silken. So delicate and beautiful.

Giving a heavy sigh, Ahk let her self lower, the straightened her knees as her body soared into the air. Her wings thrust out yet again, desperately clawing at the nothingness around her to in an attempt to gain altitude. Still to no avail, she fell yet again at her father's feet, looking pitifully up at him.
