Nothing at All

Just a poem I wrote this afternoon. It sucks, I know. I just felt the need to write, so I wrote this.

I stood on the brink
I looked into the black
I knew then
That I wasn’t coming back.

I knew I wouldn’t
Dance with the sun
I knew that
My end had just begun.

I know that
The moon won’t rise again
I know that
Everything will end.

I know now that
Nothing lasts forever
It doesn’t take a genius to know
That I’ve lost my place forever.

I can’t look
To the sun
I can’t play
I can’t run.

All I do is
Stand and fight.
I fight all day
And all night.

I know that
The day will come
That I lay down my sword
When I’m finished and done.

I know that one-day
I’ll fall down to rest
I know that that day
Will be my last.

The sun is setting
On a forest of death
The moon will rise
And I shall pay my debt.

I’ll lay down my burdens
And fall to the ground
I’ll finish my fighting
And watch the Earth go ‘round.

My tears will form lakes,
My burdens shall fall
And all that I know
Will be nothing at all.

Actually, that's pretty good. I like it. ;D
